Summary
The rupee rose for the second consecutive session, closing at 95.73 against the US dollar. It gained 63 paise from its previous close. The gain is attributed to softening crude oil prices and supposed intervention by the Reserve Bank. Positive domestic equities and a decline in US treasury yields also supported the rupee. The dollar index was trading down 0.04 percent at 99.29.
